This is the Landing Page Header Text Box

The landing page is the home page for a Project Website and is often used for general event information, directions, and announcements. The grey event name and date below this text are pulled from the Project Settings > General & Accounting Settings. To change it, update in the General & Accounting Settings and then return to Manage Project Website and click Edit General Settings and click Save. To remove it click Edit General Settings and toggle off the "Project Info to Display."

This textbox is the Landing Page Body Text.
It cannot be edited in the advanced editing of the website (accessed via Edit Page on Website); it can only be edited in Manage Project Website using Edit Page Settings.

Friendly URLs

The standard URLs for pages can be long. You can create shorter customized URLs for your pages called Friendly URLs. This can be done in Manage Project Website using Edit Page Settings for the page. Then check off the option near the top to "Add Friendly URL." This page's Friendly URL is https://gglabs.ejoinme.org/friendlyurl. You cannot delete Friendly URLs but you can add as many Friendly URLs as you want to a single page and you can also easily move them to new pages by simply adding them to a different page.

Advanced Project Website Editing

There are two ways to edit the Project Website. The first is by using the basic event software editing tools. These are accessed in Manage Project Website using the Edit General Settings and Edit Page Settings buttons. The second is by using the advanced Online Payments editing tools. These are accessed in Manage Project Website using the Edit Page on Website buttons for individual pages. Advanced Project Website edits should only be done at the very end of building your project. All of your initial work - particularly creating the right type of pages, publishing your packages, and choosing your registration settings - must be done through the basic event software editing tools. Once you're done building the basics of your Project Website you can move on to the advanced Online Payments editing tools using Edit Page on Website. If you switch back and forth between the two forms of editing you will risk overwriting and erasing your advanced edits.

Think of it like baking a cake. The basic event software editing tools allow you to build your initial site, aka pour the batter and bake the foundation of your cake. The advanced Online Payment editing tools allow you to make advanced design edits and add extra features to your pages, aka frost and decorate the cake. If you later go back and try to make a change to that foundation after you've already decorated the cake then you will mess up all that pretty frosting and will have to re-do it.

Don't want a Landing Page?

If you don't want to use a landing page you can unpublish it by changing the Page Visibility to "Don't show page on website." Be aware that the link at the top of Manage Project Website is the URL to the landing page. If you unpublish the landing page and then click the link following "Your website is published at" you will be taken to a blue Online Payments login screen. To access your pages you will instead want to create and use a friendly URL for one of your published pages.
